Dan presents a talk at MBTP symposium 2021

Dan Willard represented the Kelly lab at NC State’s 2021 Molecular Biotechnology Training Program (MBTP) symposium. Dan gave his talk on “The Life Sulfuric: understating sulfur oxidation in thermoacidophiles through comparative genomics and thermodynamics”. Other Kelly lab members also presented posters in the symposium.

James Crosby wins third place oral presentation award at the Schoenborn Graduate Research Symposium

The Kelly lab presented research at NC State’s 2021 Schoenborn Graduate Research Symposium. James gave a talk on “High Temperature Bioprocessing: The Future of Biofuels Could Be Thermophilic Bacteria”. Nu also gave a talk on “Engineering the Cell Surface of Lignocellulosic Bacteria For Improved Plant Biomass Solubilization”. Other Kelly lab members also presented posters.

Ryan represented the Kelly Lab in NCSU’s 10th Annual Biolunch Graduate Seminar Series to share his research findings. Ryan’s talk focused on “Extremely thermophilic fermentation for conversion of plant biomass to volatiles”

The Kelly Lab presents talks at MBTP symposium 2020

The Kelly Lab presented research at NC State’s 2020 Molecular Biotechnology Training Program (MBTP) symposium. The symposium was held virtually via VirBELA. Aside from discussing their research in poster format, Ryan Bing gave a talk on Converting lignocellulosic biomass into volatile industrial chemicals via fermentation by the extreme thermophile Caldicellulosiruptor bescii.
